Burnmap

A world-shaped ranking map where each land block burns on a timer and holders can be displaced for a fixed price.

This world-shaped map lets people rent one of 3,731 land blocks for a limited period rather than owning a position permanently. It is designed for people who want a visible place on a live leaderboard, particularly for links, projects, and attention-based promotion. The most prominent locations come with faster time decay, making highly visible spots shorter-lived and more competitive.

Each block belongs to one of three geographic zones with its own burn rate. Core locations near major cities use the fastest burn rate, while coastal and outer blocks last longer. This creates a simple tradeoff between visibility, holding time, and cost.

Key Features

Time-Based Rank

Instead of purchasing a permanent position, the value of a block determines how many seconds it can be held. The system is built around time, so the position's remaining lifetime matters as much as its location.

Fixed Takeover

Blocks can be claimed before they expire through a straightforward takeover mechanism. Anyone can claim an occupied block early by paying 2x its remaining value, creating a known replacement price without requiring an auction.

Relocation on Bump

Being displaced does not simply erase the remaining value of a holding. When a holder is bumped, their remaining time moves to a random open block in the outer area.

This gives displaced holders another position while maintaining the scarcity and competitive nature of the map.

Live Map and Leaderboard

The map, leaderboard, and statistics provide a live view of the system. Users can see current holders, visitors, and which positions are approaching expiration.

This makes the changing state of the map part of the experience rather than treating it as a static directory or advertising grid.

World-Shaped Layout

The 3,731-block grid is shaped around the real-world map, using land areas only. The ocean remains a background element, giving the entire system a recognizable geographic layout while keeping individual positions tied to the world map.

Three Geographic Zones

Core

Core blocks are located near major cities and have the fastest burn rate. These positions offer greater visibility but require holders to accept shorter holding periods.

Coastal

Coastal blocks provide a middle ground between visibility and duration, lasting longer than core positions.

Outer

Outer blocks have the slowest burn rate, giving holders more time at a lower cost. They also serve as the destination for remaining time when a holder is displaced.

Built For Attention-Based Promotion

The platform is designed for people who want a visible, measurable position rather than a permanent digital property. Blocks can be used for links, projects, or other forms of attention-based promotion.

The time-based model means users can experiment with different positions, watch their holdings decay, and decide whether the visibility of a particular location justifies continuing to pay for it.

Common Use Cases

Use a block as a visible location for a link and maintain the position for a defined amount of time.

Project Visibility

Give a project a recognizable place on the world map and track its position through the live map and leaderboard.

Attention Markets

Experiment with scarce, time-limited positions where visibility changes as blocks are claimed, displaced, and allowed to expire.

Short-Term Promotion

Choose a highly visible core position for faster exposure or use coastal and outer blocks when a longer holding period is more important.

A Different Take on Digital Advertising

The platform is not structured around permanent ownership or recurring auction cycles. Instead, every position has a measurable lifespan, and replacement happens at a clearly defined price.

That creates a simple system built around scarcity, decay, and direct replacement. Holders can watch their block's remaining time decrease in real time, decide whether to continue paying to stay in place, or experiment with cheaper locations that provide longer holding periods.

Why It Matters

Traditional advertising slots and directory listings tend to treat placement as a relatively static asset. This world map makes the position itself dynamic.

Visibility comes with a clock. Prime locations burn faster, occupied blocks have a fixed takeover price, and displaced holders retain their remaining time through relocation. The result is a promotion system where location, scarcity, time, and competition directly affect the value of a position.

Claim a Place on the World Map

Explore the 3,731 land blocks, choose a location, and decide how long you want to hold it. Whether you're promoting a link, project, or idea, the platform turns visibility into a live, time-based position where every block has a cost, a clock, and the possibility of being replaced.
